The Global Sustainable Solutions Story
Founded in Huntsville, Alabama, by Andrew J. Parmer, Global Sustainable Solutions, GSS, started with simply hauling waste.
Then, an initiative came across Mr. Parmer’s desk inviting him to create a pallet rebuilding program, taking wooden industrial pallets and making them usable again, saving on monetary costs to the company and on landfill costs to the environment.
Working with Fortune 500 companies and small businesses, seeing their challenges and implementing solutions, as well as connecting with sustainability experts and the nation’s leaders of beneficial reuse, recycling, waste diversion, and waste management, has inspired the quickly-growing GSS leadership team.
Today, we have built out a suite of solutions for everyone, from large commercial and industrial facilities to municipalities and the families they serve across the United States and the globe. It all starts with our SAPP Audit.

What We Do
We are a nimble and fast-moving global sustainability company, focusing on beneficial reuse. Being at the forefront of the "materials revolution", GSS helps large industry and municipalities find homes for their waste in an environmentally conscious world.
Our SAPP Program: All our services are based on what our clients need as discovered during our in-person SAPP Audit on their site. Through observing each client’s production processes and waste management, we determine opportunities for better beneficial reuse and waste diversion, even zero landfill. We then present customized solutions to cut landfill costs and improve profits, with all our services at the ready for them. We offer the below services to our North Alabama clients as part of our SAPP Program:
Recycling: We provide companies with comprehensive recycling solutions in the Huntsville, Madison, and Decatur area. We also consult with companies outside of North Alabama, helping teams implement recycling and improve overall morale and performance.
Pallet Rebuild: We rebuild industrial pallets so they can be reused many times in the production process. This not only reduces the consumption of new wood; it decreases client costs while maintaining high quality.
Roll-Off Dumpsters: We provide on-site dumpster services for companies and individuals who need reliable, friendly, responsive customer service.
Patents To Reduce Waste: We have patented final use products deriving from industrial waste materials, which enables us to save tens of thousands of tons of would-be waste from being landfilled each year.

Two North Alabama Case Studies
Case Study #1: Immediate, Reliable Help When Needed
At Global Sustainable Solutions, we are always looking for opportunities to make our clients’ lives easier and better.
One large company we service out of Decatur, Alabama, was running into issues with their roll-off provider. They knew they could call us, and we would send help right away. Within 30 minutes, our trucks were on the road to them.
The quick performance executed by our team saved the company from stalling operations and losing income. We were able to keep their company running, keep income flowing in, and keep the large company’s leadership team happy with on-site management.
This same company has benefitted just as much from cost-savings with repaired pallets as they have with our hauling support.

One large food processing client came to us for pallet needs, and we were able to fulfill that area so well that they asked to expand into a new arena for them: helping their employees recycle consistently at all of their facilities.
While they valued recycling, their locations didn’t have a clear path forward for how to best recycle on a day-to-day basis. It was hurting morale to claim to care about the environment while throwing everything into the landfill waste basket.
Through a full-fledged recycling program and compelling presentations to company leadership and team members, we were able to help employees start recycling at their facility.
